Fuck. Dealing with this whole Rome thing with my family has put a lot of unnecessary stress on me to the point where I don’t want to go anymore. I told my brother that I didn’t want to go if no one in my family supported my decision to go. And he sent me this text message in return:

I talked to An (my sister) yesterday about this and I told her you’ve always shown me that you can make the right decision. They love you and are just worried. You can’t blame them for that. And about the money… don’t worry about the money. It comes and goes but you might not ever get a chance like this. I really think you should go. It’ll help you develop as a person.

I feel like whatever my brother says, it always has a really strong impact on me especially since I never talk to him about deep, personal stuff. A few words of reassurance from someone who you hold in high regards can really change a lot. He’ll never know how much this simple text message meant to his little sister. So thank you.
